Primary Objectives/Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Benefits Manager to design, implement, and manage our comprehensive employee benefits programs. In this role, you will enhance existing programs, ensure compliance with current regulations, support recruitment efforts, and oversee daily benefits operations. The ideal candidate will excel in developing competitive, cost-effective benefits packages to attract top talent and boost employee retention, leveraging extensive experience and exceptional decision-making skills.

 

Essential Responsibilities/Job Function

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Administer and ensure compliance for all benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, LTD, STD, 401(k), and wellness initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with benefits consultants and plan providers to ensure seamless plan administration. Research, evaluate, and recommend innovative benefit programs to maintain competitiveness while optimizing costs, and deliver effective employee communication and training for new initiatives.
  • Manage systems and technology supporting benefits programs, collaborating closely with Payroll and HRIS teams to ensure integration and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including ERISA, FMLA, and HIPAA, through required testing, audits, and reporting.
  • Support budgeting and financial analysis of benefits programs, monitoring high-cost claims, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and providing accurate expenditure forecasts for budget planning.
  • Supervise Benefits Department staff and oversee daily benefits-related operations.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on benefits programs for leadership and stakeholders.

 

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Benefits Manager or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) software required.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CEBS, SHRM) preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of benefits and compensation programs, policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience managing benefits and compensation within a Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project and people management abilities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to speak Spanish preferred.
