Your Impact: 

The Occupational Therapist has the primary responsibility to evaluate, plan, and provide comprehensive treatment plan aimed at maximizing resident’s independence and quality of life.  Evaluates outcomes and makes modifications to treatment plan as indicated.  Demonstrates clinical expertise in Occupational Therapy process.  Responds to physician consults and provides all services in accordance with physician prescription.  Screens residents and determines need for Occupational Therapy services.  Supervises and delegates duties to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and Rehab aide.  Collaborates with interdisciplinary team and resident families to ensure provision of quality care.  All essential job responsibilities will be executed in accordance with Inglis Administrative policies and compliance/ethics guidelines.

What You'll Do:

 Documentation Skills 

·         Documents resident treatment and progress on logs and progress notes:

o   Evaluations on chart within 72 hours

o   Daily notes completed on day of treatment

o   Weekly notes completed within 24-48 hours

·         Provides all information needed for billing documentation daily in billing log, Medicare in red book, and CMI in white book.

·         Documents on the resident’s plan of care to reflect all current interventions and positioning and/or equipment needs.

·         Updates Med B Log to indicate initiation and D/c of therapy (following notification guidelines).

·         Completes documentation on the computer for therapy.

Communication/Customer Service Skills 

·         Communicates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care is being provided to the residents and that resident goals are being achieved.

·         Communicates with the physicians to establish treatment plans and to maintain knowledge of resident’s medical status.

Demonstrates Clinical Knowledge by Planning and Implementing Resident Treatment Programs and Evaluating Outcomes 

·         Screens residents and assesses occupational therapy needs:

·         Screens new admissions within 48-72 hours.

·         Screens according to POC schedule for both annual and quarterly reviews.

·         Screens per referrals within 48-72 hours.

Educational Responsibilities 

·         Provides education to residents and family members regarding use of adaptive equipment, preventative care, and carryover of relevant skills being addressed while on skilled services.

·         Provides in-services as indicated on splinting needs and wearing schedules, bed positioning, wheelchair positioning and mobility needs, ADL set-up to facilitate maximal independence, smoking equipment, adaptive equipment needs.

What We're Looking For:   

  • Undergraduate degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized and accredited institution is required.
  • Current Professional Licensure in the State of Pennsylvania is required

 

Pay Rate for this Role: $55/hour
