Requirements
The Lead Recreation Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing recreational programs and activities for cadets. This position ensures that cadet programs are engaging, safe, and aligned with the organization’s mission to support cadet morale. The Lead Recreation Specialist oversees recreation staff in supporting roles, manages facility operations, and coordinates special events, trips, and activities to provide a well-rounded recreation experience for cadets.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and direct recreational programs, events, and activities specifically designed for cadets.
- Assess cadet recreational needs and resources to develop programs
- Supervise and assign duties to recreation staff, ensuring they provide effective support for cadet activities.
- Schedule and oversee the use and maintenance of recreation facilities, equipment, and resources.
- Plan and organize trips, outings, and excursions for cadets to surrounding areas.
- Develop and coordinate special events, tournaments, and seasonal activities tailored to cadet interests.
- Provide cadets with program information through brochures, calendars, and activity schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of cadet participation, program evaluations, and event reports.
- Ensure cadet programs are conducted in a safe, structured, and supportive environment in compliance with organizational standards.
- Collaborate with leadership to align recreation activities with cadet development objectives.
Qualifications
- Experience in planning and directing youth or cadet-centered recreation programs.
- Knowledge of recreation principles, facility operations, and event planning.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and oversee support staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple activities and schedules.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
