Martin/Martin, Inc. is looking for an engineer to join the Construction Engineering Services group in our Denver, Colorado office. As an Engineer-In-Training, you will be trained and gain design experience across a handful of specialty services, including structural steel connections, miscellaneous metals, modular / multi-trade rack design and cold-formed steel.

Example Responsibilities

  • Utilize hand calculations and computer design to develop and complete engineered solutions under the supervision of a Project Manager
  • Study and apply the building code and material codes to a wide range of project types and sizes.
  • Uphold quality control by self-checking work.

WORKING CONDITIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES

This position is primarily administrative in nature, working   mostly inside of the office completing a wide range of activities. The   following abilities are required:

  • Completing repetitive movement on tasks such as using a mouse or keyboard
  • Ability to remain stationary for long periods of time
  • Read, communicate, and document in English
  • Identify color
  • Determine and exchange accurate information
  • Occasionally move about outside of the office
  • Occasionally move or hold objects weighing up to 25 lbs

Requirements

Required Qualifications  

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering 
  • Has passed FE examination
  • Desire to learn 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in relevant specialty work, including connection design, erection engineering, miscellaneous metals design, crane design, etc.
  • Field experience with commercial construction
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience using computer design and graphics software for structural design and documentation (Revit, RAM, SAP, RISA, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of building and material design codes
  • Bachelor’s degree received from an institution with ABET accreditation in field of study
  • Masters degree in engineering
  • Skill and a positive attitude in completing difficult assignments
  • Willingness to take on additional work and responsibility
  • Experience in programming
