Job Description:We have a vacancy for candidates interested in teaching-focused roles in Medicine. A part-time (0.4 FTE - 40%) Lecturer (Level B) opportunity is available in Medical Education in support of clinical, practical and classroom teaching in the Doctor of Medicine.
This role will contribute towards teaching in the medical program, with a focus in the areas of law, ethics and professional practice.
The successful candidate will be expected to make informed contributions to the teaching effort of the School, and to carry out activities to maintain and develop scholarly, and / or professional activities relevant to the medicine discipline. They will also be expected to perform the full academic responsibilities and related administration in support of the development, coordination and delivery of courses in the Doctor of Medicine program.
This is a continuing, part-time position based at the Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.
Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The part-time equivalent base salary for a 40% FTE at the Academic Lecturer (Level B) ranges from $45,290 - $53,784 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total part-time package will range from $52,989 - $62,927.
The successful candidate for this role will possess:
- Possession of a law degree from a recognised educational institution.
- Possession of a doctoral or master’s qualification of equivalent accreditation and standing and/or significant progress towards completion of a master’s or doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or field.
- Experience in university teaching in an undergraduate or postgraduate medical or medical science program is highly desirable
In addition, you will have demonstrated ability to:
- Foster an outstanding student experience and encourage active participation and engagement in learning and teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs facilitating high quality, student-centred learning activities.
In doing so you will contribute to enhancing the School’s learning and teaching environment in support of an outstanding student experience.
