Atlas Roofing Shingle and Underlayment is seeking a Production Manager for Clinton, IA.

Production Manager Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe work environment through strict adherence to Atlas’ safety policies and procedures.  Drive continuous improvement in the areas of safety and housekeeping.
• Know and communicate safety message with focus on developing zero injury culture.
• Lead, direct, manage, coach, and counsel shift supervisory team and hourly employees to ensure quality products are delivered on time and manufactured at the lowest possible cost.
• Ensure production efficiency targets are met.
• Communicate with management team on status of production and maintenance activities.

• Identify and drive continuous improvement efforts through standardized work to improve cost, grow productivity, and reduce quality related issues for our customers.
• Ensure the quality systems are utilized to provide a consistent product that meets manufacturing specifications. Investigate internal and external failures in conjunction with the Quality Manager and make necessary adjustments or take appropriate action to correct.
• Work with Customer Service representatives and sales to manufacture correct Atlas products according to customer applications. 
• Oversee the day-to-day production process.  Ensure that all production is completed on time, while minimizing downtime and material loss.
• Support and sustain a culture where talent is developed through effective performance management, talent evaluation and utilization of people. Maintain documentation, track, and execute coaching and corrective action when performance issues occur.  Ensure the workforce is trained in respective job duties.
• Provide recommendations and input for capital equipment. Prepare long and short-term plans for design, construction, and alteration of machinery, tools, and equipment.
• Travel to customers, vendors, and other facilities as requested or required.

 Production Manager Experience

• Minimum of five years’ management experience in manufacturing environment.

• Works with a high sense of urgency around daily execution of production fundamentals, including safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Makes data driven decisions, while developing and leading strategic plans accountable for delivering plant performance metrics.
• Attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Self-motivated with ability to prioritize goals and objectives with minimum supervision.
• Must be able to prioritize work to meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions.

Production Manager Education, Licenses & Certifications

High School Diploma required; Associate degree (B.A. or B.S.) in related field preferred.
