About the Opportunity

Metcash is looking for a Food Service & Convenience - Wholesale Manager to join our team. In this role, you’ll leverage your industry expertise to source and negotiate a tailored product range that meets the unique needs of our Food Service & Convenience customers.

 

You’ll collaborate with both national and local suppliers to secure competitive pricing, drive sales growth, and attract new business. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop and deliver innovative category, customer, and promotional programs, empowering our National Field Sales team and ensuring we consistently exceed end-user expectations.

In this Role

  • Achieve sales and income targets for the Foodservice & Convenience (FS&C) division
  • Drive continuous improvements in cost of goods sold (COGS)
  • Build, negotiate, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Establish and embed fit-for-purpose trading terms
  • Act as the FS&C subject matter expert, collaborating with sales leaders to create bespoke pricing books
  • Negotiate optimal commercial outcomes for customers, end users, and Metcash
  • Develop and implement a private label strategy to maximise COGS synergies
  • Optimise the product range for go-to-market solutions, including branch ranging, grading, and tender submissions

 

You’re Likely a Match If

  • Proven negotiation skills with a track record of building mutually beneficial supplier partnerships
  • Strong commercial acumen and business insight
  • Deep understanding of shopper and customer insights to deliver optimal product ranges and lowest COGS
  • Customer-focused and collaborative, with the ability to influence both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Skilled at driving productivity and range efficiency through effective influence at all levels
  • Confident in making data-driven decisions to enhance performance
  • Agile and responsive in managing contracted customer requests and tender processes
