Responsibilities:
- Apply knowledge of IRS employee classifications, payroll taxes, and limits/thresholds for 401(k) and Medicare wages to ensure compliance.
- Review business expense reports for compliance with accountable plan guidelines.
- Accurately process semi-monthly, monthly, and off-cycle payrolls for the field force.
- Perform payroll balancing to ensure accurate reporting and timely payments.
- Support internal audits by verifying adherence to payroll protocols and procedures.
- Create and maintain records for new field representatives, including account setup and updates.
- Monitor debit/credit balances for field representatives under the advance pay program.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in account balances.
- Review certificate changes, exchanges, cancellations, conversions, replacements, and rider adjustments to calculate and update production credit and commissions.
- Serve as a point of contact for field representatives and home office staff regarding all aspects of field compensation.
- Complete employment verification forms for financial institutions and manage garnishment records for field representatives.
What we need:
- Associate’s degree with at least 3 years of related experience, preferably in accounting or working with payroll systems.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with solid administrative capabilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
What we offer:
- Pay: The hourly pay for this position is $22.50. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
- Work Arrangements: This is a full-time hybrid, hourly position: 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day), Monday- Friday, with flexible start time between 7 a.m.-9 a.m. Hybrid positions work at least three days in office and the remaining days each week working from home. Employees beginning to work in a new hybrid role will be asked to work on-site (five days a week) during the initial training period which may be up to one year.
