Dining Services Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Prepare made-to-order beverages including coffee, energy drinks, and smoothies.
• Cooke and assemble breakfast and lunch items, pastries, and hot meals following standardized recipes and portion guidelines.
• Assist with bask food prep such as sandwiches, salads, and pastry case stocking.
• Operate the point-of-sales (POS) system efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized service area.
• Replenish napkins, condiments, and self-service stations; wipe tables and tend to spills promptly.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hazard prevention protocols, including HACCP guidelines.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dining areas, and workplaces throughout the day.
• Operate dishwashing machines or hand-wash dishes and utensils, ensuring proper storage.
• Receive, unload, and organize deliveries of food, beverages, and supplies.
• Rotate stock, label items, and maintain orderly storage areas.
• Assist with large orders, special events and seasonal setups.
• Provide labor support for rearranging furniture or decorations as needed.
• Respond to urgent situations such as equipment failure or first aid incidents.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or lead.

What we need:

• SERV Safe certifications preferred.
• High School Diploma required.
• 1+ years of food service experience.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Work well both individually and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.

What we offer:

• Pay: The hourly pay for this position is $19.00.
• Work Arrangements: This is a full-time on-site hourly position: 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day), Monday- Friday. On-site positions work at our Home Office in Rock Island, IL. Café hours of operation are 5:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Scheduled hours for this position will be 8:00am – 4:00pm. Based on workload requirements, schedule may vary.
