Department: Family Ministries
Reports to: Junior High Pastor | North
Status: Part-Time | Hourly
Schedule: Sunday – Thursday | 28 Hours

New Life Church's mission is to make disciples in the Pikes Peak region, by calling people to worship, connect and serve.
Job Summary:
To co-labor with families and volunteers to disciple 5th and 6th grade kids by calling them to worship, connect, and serve.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fulfill New Life Family Ministries Policies and Procedures and Family Ministry Values.
- Attend all meetings required by Family Ministries leadership staff.
- Attend all meetings/events required by New Life Church leadership staff.
- Attend New Life Church staff and volunteer prayer gathering in designated gathering space (Sunday mornings).
- Take point on safety in 56 room and pass on safety concerns to oversight and necessary Life Safety communication.
- Cooperate with Family Ministry leadership team in development and implementation of the NLC volunteer pathway to recruit, equip, and mobilize volunteers.
- Equip and empower volunteers to do the work of the ministry.
- Liaison with Volunteer Process Coordinator (Central Ops) to maintain volunteer pipeline in CCB Portal.
- Schedule and interview potential volunteers.
- Create a monthly serving schedule in CCB to staff weekend services. Schedule volunteers two months out.
- Maintain weekly classroom ratio needs and manage call-ins and/or time off for volunteers.
- Send a weekly email to 56 volunteers with the Sunday schedule, lesson and other pertinent information.
- Build and maintain relationship with volunteers.
- Collaborate with the Student Ministries Team to plan, schedule and organize volunteer trainings, team building and remember and celebrate gatherings.
- Lead 56 volunteer team in carrying out ministry objectives.
- Collaborate with Specialized Needs Coordinator to support Specialized Needs families/kids.
- Collaborate with 56 volunteer team to gather details and troubleshoot/guide classroom management needs.
- Teach God-centered messages in 56 on Sundays.
- Oversee, update, and implement weekly service flow per series/messages and seasonal needs.
- Manage/oversee 56 tech needs for all events and services.
- Manage updating and ordering supplies and new, age-appropriate activities/games
- Manage/oversee 56 storage spaces and housekeeping.
- Collaborate with Student Ministries team to conceptualize, write, and teach messages.
- Create an environment where students feel comfortable and equipped to inviting peers.
- Oversee, lead, and implement creative elements and small group flow in 56 services.
- Plan and implement 56 discipleship initiatives and community events.
- Plan and implement creative, age-appropriate Worship Response opportunities at the end of each service.
- Attend NLSM Wednesday night service to build bridge for 56 to JH pass-off. Fulfill responsibilities your oversight asks on these nights.
Special Events
- Partner with Family Ministries leadership team to develop/plan/execute all Family Ministries events.
- Work with Student Ministries team to schedule reservations and logistics for 56 events.
- Collaborate with Family Ministries leaders to conceptualize, plan, and facilitate Kids Camp.
- Attend, participate, and lead aspects for Family Night gatherings.
- Attend and help in designated capacity for Desperation.
- Attend and lead at Student Camp.
Other Duties
- Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment of unity among our staff and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries and events of New Life Church.
- Anything else your supervisor may need in association with this role within given weekly hours and workflow.

Education and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with experience
Experience: 1-2 years of related experience with previous experience managing staff and volunteers.

Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit and occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Close visual acuity to is necessary to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
