Duties

Performs record keeping, adjustments, payroll processing, and accounting using customer service concepts to compute wage payments, calculate and record payroll deductions, set up new hires, process requests for offline payments, process terminations, process third party payments and reconcile/balance Annual Leave accounts. Operates all departmental equipment to process payroll and run reports. Although duties normally follow established procedures, responsibilities may include routine, minor corrections to documents ensuring accuracy and completeness of information. Works under general supervision of the Payroll Branch Chief. Qualifying Experience: Experience with basic formulas in Microsoft Excel is required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Experience with basic payroll processing, employee tax documentation, and customer service concepts is desired. 2. Experience in payroll or accounting, with a commercial, GAAP compliant accounting software, is desirable. 3. Proficiency in typing, and data entry is desired. 4. Experience working with Microsoft Office application software to produce a wide range of office documents is desired. **NOTE: Those qualified applicants who meet both the minimum qualification requirement(s) and highly preferred criteria(s) will be considered best qualified for this position and will be referred to the selecting official(s) first for consideration. Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
