Corporate Controller
Department: ADFT Shared Services
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Corporate Controller to lead our financial operations at a growing, mid-sized Managed Service Provider (MSP) company. The Corporate Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and regulatory compliance. This role plays a critical part in supporting strategic decision-making by providing financial insights and ensuring the integrity of our financial systems.
Essential Functions
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Lead all aspects of the company’s accounting operations, including month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure appropriate internal controls.
- Develop and manage financial KPIs relevant to an MSP business (e.g., MRR, client churn, service margins
- Prepare and/or oversee the purchase accounting for acquisitions as needed
Cash Flow & Treasury:
- Monitor and forecast cash flow, optimizing working capital.
- Oversee billing, collections, payables, and payroll in coordination with internal teams.
Audit, Tax, and Compliance:
- Coordinate with external auditors for financial audits.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Maintain and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and support regulatory compliance (e.g., SOC 2 readiness).
Team Leadership & Systems Management:
- Manage and mentor accounting staff.
- Evaluate and implement financial systems and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with operations and service delivery teams to align financial processes with business needs.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA is a must have, MBA preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, especially AC606 and financial reporting.
- Mergers and Acquisitions experience especially around ASC805 (Business Combinations)
- Experience in the IT services or MSP industry strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct) and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience integrating PSA tools (e.g., ConnectWise, Autotask) into financial workflows a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
