JOB SUMMARY
Operates Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to measure dimensions of automotive parts, inspection fixtures and machine jigs by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Conduct CMM inspections of parts to verify dimensional accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Develop and execute CMM programs to measure various features of parts, ensuring accurate data collection.
- Analyze CMM measurement data to identify trends, deviations, and potential quality issues.
- Participate in quality control processes, developing quality control plans, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with CMM measurements, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain accurate records of CMM inspections, reports, and findings.
- Communicate inspection results and quality issues to relevant stakeholders, including manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving CMM processes, reducing errors, and enhancing overall quality.
- Maintain and calibrate CMM equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to accurately interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Interpret and understand complex engineering drawings and blueprints.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent though graduation from a technical school is preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years progressive experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings / GD&T, follow routers, use simple math to perform basic calculations, and use basic hand-held measuring tools
- Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift/push/pull objects that are up to 50 pounds.
