Description
We are currently seeking a Billing Clerk for our Revenue Cycle Management team to provide a broad range of administrative and clerical support to our Accounts Receivable Representatives.
Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Sorts and runs mail for postage each morning and brings it down to the mail station on the 1st floor.
- Opens incoming mail, date stamps, scans correspondences to a drive, labels, and files.
- Sorts checks and EOBs and distributes to the proper location.
- Sorts daily work pulls all fee tickets, and files work in the filing cabinet daily. Remove
- Maintains all copies and printers. Loads paper daily. Orders toner.
- Assists in maintaining archived daily reports and EOBs. Works with Manager, Billing to maintain paper files for off-site storage.
- Posts all medical record charges and legal payments into NextGen. Remove legal.
- Posts patient transfers on patient accounts as instructed by the Billing Manager.
- Assists remote workers. Pulling Eobs scanning or getting doctor's signatures.
- Mails out paper claim forms with proper attachments.
- Stamps, alphabetizes, and files all EOBs and correspondence daily.
- Works any miscellaneous projects that managers assign.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience working in a medical office setting required, preferably in accounts receivable or billing.
- Intermediate computer skills to include internet and website navigation and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must be able to navigate using a keyboard, mouse, telephone, copier, and fax machine.
- Must be organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to follow through on tasks based on a pre-determined timetable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office setting and address competing priorities with a smile.
- Reliability and dependability are essential. Candidates must be able to commit to the hours of the job.
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily sedentary with frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Frequent use of phone, keyboard, mouse, copier, fax, and other office equipment.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
