Goods Receiver & Minibar Attendant

Crosby Street Hotel – SoHo, New York

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Goods Receiver & Minibar Attendant to join the team at The Crosby Street Hotel. This dual role is essential in ensuring smooth hotel operations, from managing deliveries and stock to maintaining an exceptional minibar service for our guests. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in hospitality or food & beverage, strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive, guest-focused mindset.

 

Main Duties

Goods Receiving & Stock Control

  • Accurately record all deliveries and monitor stock levels, including alcoholic beverages.
  • Guarantee all stock is delivered promptly to the correct storage or holding areas.
  • Ensure storerooms run smoothly, efficiently, and remain organized.
  • Manage stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure items are used in date sequence.
  • Liaise with managers daily regarding deliveries based on operational needs.
  • Maintain open communication with the Stock Controller and build strong relationships with vendors and delivery personnel.
  • Update, maintain, and file all delivery and order paperwork.

Minibar Operations

  • Accurately stock, itemize, and clean guest room minibars daily.
  • Take inventory, process guest charges for consumed items, and ensure accurate posting.
  • Ensure rotation of minibar products and maintain proper presentation standards.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding issues or discrepancies.
  • Promote other Firmdale Hotels and restaurants, and practice upselling techniques where appropriate.
  • Liaise with other departments to guarantee seamless guest service.
  • Follow allergy and safety procedures at all times.

Guest Service & Teamwork

  • Deliver the highest level of customer service with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Display appropriate telephone etiquette and effective communication at all times.
  • Support other team members and assist with departmental duties as required.
  • Take responsibility for punctuality, organization, and maintaining a clean workspace.

 

Requirements

  • Previous experience in hospitality, food service, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage (wine and champagne knowledge a plus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of POS systems such as Micros preferred.
  • Strong communication, numerical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Trained in manual handling and lifting techniques.
  • Must be open to working AM/PM shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic team player with a service-driven mindset.
