The OpportunityÂ
Design of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) services within the built environment, with an emphasis on sustainable design Â
Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants to develop integrated solutions for complex buildings Â
Perform engineering analysis and modelling, including whole building load calculations and energy analysis, façade thermal analysis, and airflow modelling Â
Document system design in Revit MEP Â
Communicate technical ideas to a broad range of audiences using various formats, including presentations and workshops Â
Write reports documenting calculation methods and results, design assumptions, and other technical information Â
The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment Â
Influence with design on sustainable outcome for our clients to align with Arup sustainability commitment Â
Â
Is this role right for you?Â
Bachelorâs Degree in Mechanical, Architectural Engineering, or Building Sciences related degree Â
Masterâs Degree in Mechanical, Architectural Engineering, or Building Sciences related degree preferredÂ
Coursework in heat transfer and thermodynamics, fluid dynamics or HVAC design Â
Developing interest in the built environment Â
Proven leadership experience and time management skills Â
Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way Â
Attitude of taking initiative, enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, teamwork, creativity Â
Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working Â
Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels Â
Internship experience in engineering-related firm preferredÂ
Passed Fundamentals of Engineering examination preferred Â
Membership in ASHRAE, USGBC, ASME, preferred Â
Coursework in Energy/thermal modeling experience, Revit or 3D modeling experience and/or sustainability preferredÂ
Advanced computational modeling (e.g., CFD) preferredÂ
Computer programming languages (e.g., Dynamo, Python, Grasshopper) preferredÂ
Must be eligible to work in the US without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future to be considered for this role.

Seattle Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Seattle, WA is $24/hour to $43/hour. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Seattle, WA will differ. Â
