Position Title: CMMS Manager
Reports To: Maintenance Manager & Plant Engineer
FLSA Status: Salaried/Exempt
Job Grade: 10
Pay Range: $103,875- $148,387 annually
Position Overview:
The CMMS Manager is a key leader within our milk manufacturing facility, responsible for the strategic oversight of maintenance planning, inventory control, and procurement processes to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of production assets. This role manages the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and directs a team responsible for sourcing, stocking, and tracking all parts and supplies. Working closely with the Plant Manager, Plant Engineer, and Maintenance Manager, this position plays a critical role in supporting uptime, improving maintenance performance, and optimizing operational costs.
Key Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
- Lead the maintenance procurement and inventory strategy, ensuring the availability of critical parts and supplies to support 24/7 milk processing operations.
- Direct and develop the maintenance support team, including Parts Room personnel, fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with plant leadership to build and execute daily and long-term maintenance plans that support maximum runtime and minimal downtime across all milk production lines.
- Manage and optimize the CMMS platform to ensure accurate tracking of assets, work orders, and parts inventory, enabling data-driven decision-making.
- Standardize parts inventory protocols, including defining and maintaining min/max levels, identifying critical spares, and implementing loss prevention and audit procedures.
- Lead vendor selection and management efforts, obtaining competitive quotes, negotiating contracts, and building strong supplier relationships aligned with corporate procurement strategies.
- Oversee all MRO purchasing for the facility, including requisitions for capital projects, reconciliation of purchasing cards, and resolution of invoice discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulatory requirements related to procurement, inventory, and safety.
- Conduct regular inventory audits (quarterly and biannually), analyze results, and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.
- Champion operational excellence, identifying cost-saving opportunities and leading initiatives to improve system reliability, storeroom organization, and procurement performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, purchasing, business management or applicable degree plus experience.
- 3+ years of proven experience in a maintenance or supply chain management role within a dairy or food manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with experience supervising technical support staff.
- Expertise in CMMS platforms and/or Microsoft Suite.
- In-depth knowledge of dairy processing equipment and production parts.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, part diagrams, and supplier specifications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Understanding of basic accounting and procurement processes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in a food-grade environment.
- Self-starter with high integrity and a continuous improvement mindset.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to navigate all areas of the facility, including office spaces, warehouse areas, and the exterior perimeter.
· Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary to safely perform job duties.
· Ability to stand, sit, and carry out tasks throughout a full shift, with appropriate meal breaks.
· Physically capable of standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, and crouching as needed.
· Able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds independently and heavier objects with reasonable accommodations.
· Visual acuity sufficient to perform job duties accurately.
· Capable of assessing weights, judging distances, and working at various heights.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 7am-4pm

It is not typical for an employee to start at or near the top of the range for the position.
