Summary:
Under the general direction of the Base Refugee Health Promotion Program Supervisor, the Refugee Health Promotion Program Manager’s primary responsibility is to oversee and manage staff activities, keep track of program numbers, and aid in program reporting. The manager will ensure that services are provided in a planned, effective and timely manner to eligible clients and are appropriate to meet the needs of the refugees and contribute to the clients’ self-sufficiency. This position is responsible for managing programmatic health and wellness activities. Training staff on program manuals is a responsible of this position to ensure program integrity and compliance with federal grant regulations. Other duties include representation of the department and Catholic Charities in the San Antonio and Bexar County.
Position Responsibilities:
- * This position is responsible for the recruitment, hiring and training of all staff under their supervision. They will also make recommendations for termination of employees.
- * Manages workflow and workload assignments of caseworkers in a timely manner.
- * Conducts employee supportive supervision reviews on a monthly basis.
- * Assists Program Director monitor all necessary documentation to ensure compliance with funding requirements, licensing requirements, program(s) standards, and agency quality assurance standards.
- * Assists Program Director in developing trainings for staff; documentation and follow through to ensure compliance with all expectations and standards of practice.
- The Health & Wellness Program Manager will assist with the program’s goals and client education classes, including the compliance of all applicable federal grants and budget regulations, and Council on Accreditation standards.
- Maintain database of community resources.
- Assist to ensure that program reports concerning all accomplishments, problems, activities, etc. are completed on time and submitted to the proper funding source and agency departments.
- Ensure that services are provided in an effective and timely manner to eligible clients; and that services are being provided in a culturally appropriate manner in order to meet the needs of individual clients.
- Conduct client home visits and follow-up with health providers for maintaining good communication and partnerships.
- Must complete all required professional development assigned in a timely manner.
- Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural And socioeconomic characteristics.
- Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
- Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts,internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
- Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education/Experience
- High school diploma
- A Bachelor’s degree in health care or medical social work is preferred, or a minimum of four – six years’ experience working in a health and wellness or social service environment that demonstrates a sensitivity and appreciation for diverse cultural populations.
- License and Credentials
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid vehicle liability insurance
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must have clean driving record
- Bilingual (Language preference: Pashto, Dari (Farsi), or Spanish.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of Program Manuals and Operational Guidelines.
- Knowledge of client files documentation and record keeping.
- Skilled in computer techniques, various software, email and internet.
- Skilled in organization, and time management.
- Ability to workin a culturally sensitive way with people of various backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain appropriate ethical boundaries and professional client relationship.
- Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team;
- Must have good written and verbal skills;
- Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
