Function: Managing all aspects of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for distributed generation and backup power projects.
Job Location: This position can be located in our Midland, Houston or Arlington, Texas (Priority Power Offices).

Position Overview:
As a Project Manager of Distributed Generation for Priority Power, you will lead the engineering, procurement, and construction of DG and backup power projects, with an emphasis on natural gas and diesel generator systems. These systems provide critical resiliency and reliability for commercial and industrial facilities.
You will be responsible for delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget, while ensuring compliance with all specifications, contracts, and stakeholder requirements. This includes managing schedules, financial forecasts, contract performance, risk management, and quality assurance, as well as coordinating with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
The successful candidate will work on a cross functional team interfacing with project development, engineering, project controls, procurement, financial planning, accounting, and legal.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead all aspects of project execution from notice to proceed through commissioning and turnover to the client.
· Manage project controls including scheduling, cost tracking, and revenue forecasting.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on project performance, risks, and milestones.
· Oversee contractor and vendor performance, ensuring adherence to technical requirements and contract terms.
· Work with the EHS Manager to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
· Direct procurement of engineering services, contractors, equipment, and materials.
· Manage contract negotiations and change orders with customers and contractors.
· Ensure regulatory and permit compliance, including interconnection agreements and environmental requirements.
· Lead project meetings with internal stakeholders, clients, and contractors.
· Identify, assess, and resolve project issues while minimizing risk and maximizing opportunities.
· Coordinate with cross-functional teams including project development, engineering, project controls, procurement, finance, and legal.
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong technical knowledge of distributed generation and backup power systems, including: Natural gas and diesel generator systems; Controls: switchgear, and utility interconnection requirements; and Facility-level integration of DG assets.
- Familiarity with Distributed Generators (DGs) and their integration into facility and utility systems.
- Hands-on experience with backup generation and deployments.
- 5-10+ years of project management experience on utility-class electrical infrastructure.
- Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in electrical engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or project/construction management.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage EPC contracts and vendor agreements.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Contractually and commercially aware and capable of negotiating and complying with EPC agreements and other customer agreements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-starter, very self-reliant and capable of operating with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work within a cross-functional team environment for project development and execution.
- Ability to manage client expectations within the context of project execution.
- Proficient in project management and engineering software tools (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, Smartsheet, Oracle P6, Procore, and NetSuite).
- Experienced at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and site visits.
Location
Midland, Houston or Arlington, Texas (Priority Power Offices)
The Project Manager will be expected to travel about 25% of the time to other Priority Power offices, customer meetings, and construction site locations.
