Purpose

The Senior Manager, Implementation will serve as the strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of new product launches from the point of contract win through successful go-live at PDUFA. This role will lead the new business segment of Implementation team and serve as the primary cross-functional liaison between internal departments and external manufacturer partners during the pre-launch phase.

Purpose

This role will lead the new business segment of Implementation team and serve as the primary cross-functional liaison between internal departments and external manufacturer partners during the pre-launch phase.

Responsibilities

  • Directly leads, mentors, and develops a team of Implementation Managers, ensuring accountability, professional growth, and performance excellence.
  • Fosters a culture of collaboration, high performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Serves as escalation point for any implementation-related risks or issues, providing resolution guidance and leadership support.
  • Owns the end-to-end implementation process from product ‘win’ through product launch (PDUFA), ensuring on-time, compliant, and successful execution.
  • Acts as the primary project owner and subject matter expert across internal cross-functional teams including Payer Strategy, Clinical, IT, Legal, Compliance, and Operations.
  • Serves as the senior point of contact for pharmaceutical manufacturer partners throughout the implementation phase.
  • Supports the development and management of detailed launch project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
  • Ensures project milestones and deliverables are met across all workstreams, identifies risks early and implements mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitates and leads cross-functional meetings, provides clear updates, documentation, and next steps to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partners with leadership to refine and standardize implementation methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Contributes to post-launch reviews, gathers feedback to drive process improvements and increase implementation efficiency.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements specific to specialty and rare disease pharmacy.
  • Develop continuous process opportunities for Implementation and cross-functionally. 
  • Other projects and responsibility as assigned. 

 Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master’s, PharmD, MBA, or other relevant advanced degree).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in pharmacy operations, program implementation, or specialty/rare disease care settings.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership or senior project management capacity.
  • Demonstrated success managing high-complexity implementations involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High degree of professionalism, executive presence, and decision-making capability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience launching rare or ultra-rare disease programs.
  • PMP or other relevant project management certification.

Work Environment

This position operates in a home or professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
