Position: Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities Operations team at the Fort Wayne Campus. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing university buildings, supporting special projects, and ensuring our campus remains a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
What You'll Do:
Perform general maintenance and repair on campus buildings and systems
Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs
Support construction and special projects as needed
Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure long-term building care
Participate in on-call duty rotation
Assist with building control monitoring, moving equipment, and event set-ups
Collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and outside contractors
Carry out other duties as assigned
What You'll Need:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Valid driver’s license
Plumbing license preferred
Moderate knowledge/experience in plumbing and HVAC systems
Basic electrical and carpentry skills
Experience with building control systems a plus
Familiarity with power tools, lifts, forklifts, and other maintenance equipment
Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a variety of environments (mechanical rooms, roofs, tunnels, etc.)
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Construction and/or facility maintenance experience preferred
