Job Description
The Sales Manager is responsible for prospecting for new clients, making cold calls, writing and negotiating contracts, and conducting site tours. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
Responsibilities:
· Must be willing to be involved in local tourism associations.
· Dedicate significant portion of time to direct sales consisting of outside sales calls, property tours and responding to all RFP’s.
· Consistently work on the development of new business opportunities.
· Assist hotel in meeting or exceeding assigned revenue goals, primarily, but not limited to: Rooms, Meeting Room, Incremental and RevPAR Index.
· Performs Sales Audits to ensure information accuracy in property management systems, sales software systems, and general reporting.
· Participate in yield management meetings, as necessary.
· Participate in weekly sales meetings and in all hotels related meetings as directed by VP of Sales & General Manager.
· Develop special sales activities and promotions and monitor return on investment.
· Ensures that property has maximized use of all company, brand and local CVB programs.
· Conduct market analysis to determine client needs, occupancy potential, rates, etc. for hotel.
· Provide excellent guest service.
· Exhibits a positive and involved team player attitude and a true passion for the hospitality industry.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of hotel sales experience.
This person will be responsible for selling to all markets and must have flexibility to work some mornings, evenings and weekends.
