The Role

As an Application Engineer, you will offer your expertise to design, implement, and optimize solutions tailored to client requirements. Your role involves analyzing customer needs, configuring software systems, providing technical support, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product integration and performance. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a deep understanding of engineering principles and industry standards are essential to excel in this role.

Your Impact

• Design and implement software solutions for customer-specific needs. Most often this will be a program to interface with another system, or a program which provides a feature not available in our standard software packages.
• Understand the technical specification design and participate in workshops with customers.
• Able to assess and understand complex design documents detailing the proposed solution to meet the proposed requirements.
• Develop software according to design documents with support either from lead custom application engineers or project engineers.
• Perform design and code reviews to ensure completeness, accuracy, and quality, under guidance from a senior custom application engineer.
• Advise and support newer or less experienced members of the team regarding technical requirements and good practices.  Document and share knowledge.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or related fields.
• 2-3 years relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in computer programming; C and/or Python preferred.
• Knowledge of SCADA and/or OT systems.
• Strong analytical, independent problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability and flexibility to travel to domestic and international customer sites.
• Ability to work independently, effectively manage time, and prioritize strategically.
