The role
The Cloud Engineer will assist in managing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure to ensure reliability, security, and scalability. This role is ideal for individuals looking to expand their cloud expertise while contributing to key operational processes. The candidate will work alongside senior cloud engineers and report to the Head of Cloud Engineering.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Support the maintenance and operation of cloud environments.
- Help implement security measures to safeguard cloud resources.
- Assist in monitoring system performance and resolving deployment or cloud-related issues.
- Automate Infrastructure creation and modifications.
- Automate build and deployment of applications.
Collaboration and Coordination
- Work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to support cloud initiatives.
- Contribute to documentation and best practices for cloud deployments.
- Participate in troubleshooting sessions to improve system reliability.
Continuous Learning & Improvement
- Gain hands-on experience with cloud automation tools and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
- Stay informed about emerging cloud technologies and best practices.
- Assist in implementing small-scale improvements to cloud processes and deployments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3-5 years minimum of experience in cloud engineering or IT infrastructure.
- Foundational proficiency in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud with a willingness to grow expertise.
- Understanding of cloud security principles and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn from senior engineers.
- Certifications like AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or Google Associate Cloud Engineer are a plus.
- Availability to participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
