The Facilities Engineer serves as the primary resource for day-to-day technical guidance for Facilities Engineering. The position will represent the interests of facilities engineering by serving as a liaison with project management and construction activities. In addition, the position will manage and coordinate a variety of expensed projects funded by Facilities Engineering.
Responsibilities of the position will include, but not be limited to the following:
1. Establish and maintain design standards and details for Facilities Engineering
2. Periodically review and monitor construction projects for compliance with design standards.
3. Assist Project Management in effectively coordinating utility shutdown requests.
4. Participate in development of final punchlist and project closeout documentation.
5. Assist in the resolution of technical engineering problems.
6. Evaluate technical opportunities for operational improvements.
7. Manage maintenance and improvement projects funded by Facilities Engineering.
8. Monitor utility trends.
The incumbent may drive a Mayo Clinic vehicle on a regular or occasional basis.
Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree required.
* Requires 5+ years of demonstrated experience in an engineering field.
* 3 years experience in construction, and facilities engineering practices within a healthcare setting preferred.
* Knowledge of applicable building codes and standards.
* Must have excellent communication and writing skills.
* Knowledge of Windows NT, Office 97 and Excel desired.
Valid Arizona driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
