The Hemophilia Center of Western Pennsylvania is one of about 140 hemophilia treatment centers nationwide but stands out as one of the larger centers offering comprehensive multidisciplinary care and support for patients throughout their lifetime. As a Genetics Counselor, you’ll get to:
- Provide genetic counseling to stakeholders, including healthcare providers, hospital partners, patients and families.
- Explain complex diagnostic and screening tests, reproductive options, risks, benefits and limitations of genetic testing in clear and compassionate language.
- Coordinates, interprets, and reviews genetic test results (including next generation sequencing, Sanger sequencing, PCR-based methods, and DNA fragment analysis), in collaboration with laboratories and physicians.
