Job Description:Role Overview
As the Manager, Business Analytics, you will be responsible for driving insights through data modelling, financial analysis, and the development of robust dashboards and reports to support business decisions. You will partner closely with senior stakeholders, finance teams, and technical experts to deliver high-quality analytics solutions and lead initiatives that improve our reporting capabilities across the organization.
This role requires a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills, as you will manage 2-3 direct reports while also remaining hands-on with data, models, and analytics.
This position will offer flexibility for hybrid work schedules to include both in-office presence and telecommute/virtual work, to be based in Dallas, TX.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of business analysts (2-3 direct reports).
- Partner with senior leaders, finance teams, and operations to understand strategic priorities and deliver actionable insights.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership to ensure alignment on objectives and deliverables.
Analytics & Reporting
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
- Translate business requirements into scalable reporting solutions and interactive dashboards.
- Ensure reporting outputs are accurate, timely, and aligned with business needs.
Data Modelling & Financial Analysis
- Build and maintain complex data models to support business forecasting, resource planning, and performance tracking.
- Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate scenarios, project profitability, and business performance.
- Analyze business trends and provide insights to support decision-making at multiple organizational levels.
Project Planning & Execution
- Scope, prioritize, and manage analytics projects from concept to delivery.
- Establish timelines, track milestones, and ensure deliverables meet expectations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation of analytics solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field plus at least 8 years of experience in business analytics, financial modelling, or a related role, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, complex formulas, macros, and data visualization)
- Data Modelling – Building, maintaining, and interpreting models for forecasting and decision-making.
- Requirements Gathering – Engaging stakeholders to understand and translate business needs into analytics solutions.
- Report & Dashboard Design – Developing intuitive, scalable, and insightful reporting solutions.
- Financial Concept Understanding – Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, and performance tracking.
- Financial Modelling – Building dynamic models to support decision-making, planning, and investment strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to work with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project planning and stakeholder management experience.
- Business Intelligence (BI) solution design and development.
- Ability to work independently and lead projects end-to-end.
- Experience with a professional services organization (and the metrics used to manage this type of business eg WIP, utilization, etc)
- Power BI or equivalent BI tools such as Cognos Analytics, Tableau or Qlik
- Experience with large datasets and enterprise-level reporting systems
- Prior experience working in a large, matrixed organization is strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
