The City of Hillsboro Parks and Recreation Department is excited to bring back our outdoor, open air ice skating rink to Hillsboro! It is the only one of its kind in the region. We are currently hiring for our ice management and rink operations team and need to fill the following shift schedules: 

AM shift, Tuesday - Sunday is 9:30 AM - 3:15 PM

PM shift, Tuesday - Sunday is 3:00 PM - 8:45 PM

This is a great opportunity to engage with and spread holiday cheer to the public, and provide a unique and fun recreation experience for the community. Learn new skills, refine your ice skating technique, and gain customer service experience.

Position Duties

We are hiring for:
Program and Facility Attendants: $24.05

• Check people in who would like to register
• Take payments for walk up skaters
• Troubleshoot on-site technology
• Ensure safety waivers have been signed
• Work with patrons to receive skate rentals
• Maintain the rental skates
• Maintain and repair the ice in between skating sessions
• Patrol the ice on a regular basis
• Ensure that rink rules are being followed 
• Manage the crowd on and off the ice
• Assessing customer needs and responding to emergency situations

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED;
• Some customer service or general office experience; or
• Any combination of experience and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Other Requirements:

• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check

Other Qualifications

• Ability to attend work on a regular, predictable basis as scheduled.
