Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications and Marketing, the Student Engagement Coordinator, Division of Administration, supports student-facing initiatives that drive awareness, excitement, and connection to services across the Division of Administration. Rooted in immersive experiences and event marketing, this role focuses on deepening relationships between students and units such as Campus Dining, Public Safety, Transportation & Parking, and others. The coordinator develops strategies for student-centered events, supports student employment and engagement campaigns, and collaborates on divisional storytelling to ensure consistent, authentic communication that resonates with student audiences.

The Division of Administration supports the university's academic mission by delivering a broad range of essential operational services and initiatives that enable teaching, learning, research, and residential life. With a focus on excellence, accountability, and innovation, the division encompasses Auxiliary Services, Public Safety, Equal Access and Opportunity, Dialogue Vanderbilt, and Vanderbilt University–New York City. Key Functions and Expected Performance:
Student Experience & Engagement:
Serve as a key connector between students and division services.
Lead execution of tabling events, campus activations, pop-up experiences, and engagement opportunities that build excitement and awareness.
Create and manage student ambassador and internship programs.
Marketing & Communications:
Collaborate on campaigns that promote division programs and services, particularly to student audiences.
Support content development for newsletters, social media, and digital signage.
Respond to student and parent inquiries and provide high-touch service and follow-up.
Represent Division of Administration areas in presentations or small groups.
Event Operations:
Coordinate student engagement elements of major division events.
Partner with vendors and departments to enhance event experiences.
Ensure all events are inclusive, accessible, and mission-aligned.
Student Employment & Belonging:
Promote and support student employment programs across the division.
Develop strategies for recruiting and retaining student workers.
Coordinate with Human Resources and Student Employment to foster a culture of belonging.
Supervisory Relationships:
This position has supervisory responsibility for student marketing interns.
Experience and Education:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 12 months of experience in marketing, public relations, student affairs or related field.
Skills:
Experience in student-focused event planning and outreach.
Familiarity with social media trends and student/Generation Z culture.
Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills.
Higher education experience, especially in a student-facing role, preferred.
Lifestyle and/or food photography skills preferred, but not required.
Commitment to working collaboratively with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
Strong interpersonal and written communications skills; comfortable representing Division of Administration areas with professionalism, tact, and enthusiasm.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
