The Position
The mission of every Robertson employee is to execute their responsibilities with the #1 goal of saving and protecting the lives of service members across the globe. The Structures & Dynamics Analysis Engineer provides structures and dynamics guidance during the initial through final design and development of fuel system components and restraint systems; as well as support design verification and qualification activities by performing specialized analysis and by writing clear and concise documentation including test plans, reports, memos, and trip reports.
Duties & Responsibilities
Structures & Dynamics Analysis Engineers I, II, III, IV and V:
- Evaluates the internal loads for the fuel system components and assemblies
- Performs the initial and final sizing of fuel system components and assemblies
- Assists Aviation, Ground, and Fuel Containment Technology Engineers with projects as necessary
- Adherence to Export Control and Technology Control Plan (TCP) as applicable to job function
- Adherence to Compliance Plan and Employee Policy Manual

Structures & Dynamics Analysis Engineers II, III, IV and V (in addition to the above):
- Assists with training and on-the-job learning initiatives for less experienced Engineers
- Effectively and directly communicates with vendors and customers
- Marginal duties may include the following:
- Performs proof of concept experiments to demonstrate ideas
- Proactively seeks guidance and work opportunities to increase skill set and to determine the potential impact of designs and improve understanding of standard operating procedures
Structures & Dynamics Analysis Engineers III, IV and V (in addition to the above):
- Performs continuous improvement of analytical processes/tools to improve accuracy, effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort
- Provides support in guiding, execution of design changes, and optimization of the fuel system structural components and assemblies responses as required
- Works with teammates, production staff, and technical staff to ensure proper interpretation and implementation of customer needs into finished products
- Executes preliminary and critical design reviews with teammates to adequately express project requirements
- Regularly informs and educates stakeholders on new systems, designs, and methodology to ensure proper understanding and execution of designs
- Develops and manages to schedules for each project
- Designs products that meet customer requirements
- Developing specifications based on customer requirements
- Ensures technical and schedule requirements are met
- Manages any required test program for the product
- Responds to internal and external customer questions and requests in a timely fashion
- Marginal duties may include the following:
- Defines and documents structural design requirements for the service life of the company products, by applying company, customer, and regulatory requirements and specifications
Structures & Dynamics Analysis Engineers IV and V (in addition to the above):
- Develops conceptual and/or detailed approaches to structures & dynamics analysis and coordinates technology development to ensure structural integrity of the company products
- Investigates emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet the projected requirements
- Coordinates the development of new processes and methodologies
- Leads the design and development of a product as well as the execution throughout the life cycle of the product (business development phase to product disposal phase) to include capture, development, test, production, and sustainment
- Conducts project status meetings and reporting status updates on existing project(s)
- Marginal duties may include the following:
- Defines computing requirements and develops/supports in-house and commercial application software, to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks
- Plans and leads the research of new technology applications, new product designs and structural life enhancement concepts, to improve the company products
Structures & Dynamics Analysis Engineers V (in addition to the above):
- Develops and implements new analysis approaches to dynamics and structural stability analyses, and pre-testing simulations
- Supports proposal development activities by developing technical volume sections
- Marginal duties may include the following:
- Works with customers and regulatory agencies to develop certification standards and define processes that will ensure requirements are met
