Homeoffice QA Engineer (Remote Opportunity) presso Mind Computing

Mind Computing is seeking a QA Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs in a fast-paced SAFe Agile environment. You will participate in the full system lifecycle—analysis, planning, development, implementation, testing, documentation, and operations—with an emphasis on manual quality assurance and test design. Our client is modernizing a critical business application. Activities include application migration, application sustainment, refactoring, all performed according to agile principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute manual test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate system requirements.
• Track, document, and report defects, ensuring issues are resolved and retested using JIRA for bug tracking and reporting.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to refine requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Participate in risk management assessments and provide input on test strategy and coverage.
• Configure necessary hardware and operating environments to support testing.
• Provide regular status updates and maintain clear, detailed documentation of all testing activities within JIRA dashboards and Agile boards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of manual software testing experience.
• Strong understanding of test design techniques, defect tracking systems, and Agile/Scrum or SAFe processes.
• Proficiency with JIRA for issue tracking, test management, and Agile sprint planning.
• Familiarity with basic automation tools.

Additional Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a government clearance.
• Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal agencies.
