JOB SUMMARY:
The Capital Planning & Facilities Office Assistant is an entry-level role that provides clerical and administrative support to the housekeeping department. This position is designed for individuals who may be new to office or facilities work. Training will be provided to ensure success in the role.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with receiving and processing housekeeping work orders.
- Help maintain records, supply logs, and scheduling documents.
- Provide clerical support, including data entry, filing, and answering phones/emails.
- Assist in ordering and tracking supplies.
- Support event setup coordination by tracking schedules.
- Report safety or maintenance concerns to supervisors.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Basic computer familiarity (Microsoft Office helpful but not required).
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- None

- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous office or administrative experience helpful.

- NA
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs).
- Office-based role with regular interaction across campus.
Facilities Department employees are considered “essential employees.” As such, all Facilities Department employees are required to report for work during emergencies as well as University closings.
