JOB OVERVIEW
Job Description The Target Hiring Range for this position is: $61,290-$64,000 The Senior Administrative Specialist is a high-impact position supporting multiple departments within the Support Operations division of the Senate Sergeant at Arms. Working closely with the Administrative Manager, this experienced professional will provide effective administrative support, play an important role in the division’s recruitment processes, help ensure seamless internal operations through sound judgment, strategic problem-solving, and a strong commitment to helping teams succeed. The ideal candidate is organized, resourceful, and comfortable juggling competing priorities on tight deadlines. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, solutions-oriented professional who takes ownership of their work, looks for ways to improve efficiency, and genuinely enjoys supporting others in a collaborative team environment.
Key Accountabilities/Essential Job Duties
Performs a range of administrative tasks, including personnel management, prepares correspondence, and generates reports for multiple departments. Operates various record keeping and personnel processing systems. Assists in recruitment and new hire process; schedules interviews; prepares and sends decline notifications. Compiles and develops Senate Telephone and online directories; enters and maintains information in centralized system; researches and verifies information; updates all directory sections. Reviews and prepares background check packets for SAA vendors; tracks completion and approval; requests ID access. Processes training/conference fee registrations via SAA Purchase Card and/or purchase request; processes voucher payment. Other duties as assigned.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
To be employed by a Senate employing office in a paid position in the continental United States an individual must:
1. Be a U.S. citizen;
2. Be lawfully admitted for permanent residence and seeking citizenship as outlined in 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)(B);
3. Be (i) admitted as a refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157 or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1158 and (ii) have filed a declaration of intention to become a lawful permanent resident and then a citizen when eligible; or
4. Owe allegiance to the U.S. (i.e., qualify as a non-citizen U.S. national under federal law).
