Platinum Paving & Concrete is looking to add a Senior Estimator to their team!
The Senior Estimator works closely with management, operations, and the estimating team in the review of project plans, requirements, and specifications. The Estimator shall have extensive knowledge of construction means and methods, costs, and engineering principles. The Estimator must be confident working with estimating teams on projects of varying sizes and generating comprehensive proposals and budgets.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities::- Review owner plans and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project; develop plan for the actual construction to serve as basis for the estimate.
- Reviews all bid and contract documents.
- Conduct site investigation prior to forming a plan of operations to identify any problems or conditions of an unusual nature that may be present.
- Handle any major technical problems encountered during bid preparation.
- Familiarize yourself with new trends and developments, such as new equipment, methods and procedures that are developing in the industry.
- Prepare special engineering studies or reports required by certain bid items or conditions.
- Consult with owners on various problems discovered during bid preparation, design, rates, schedules, etc.
- Identify risk and appropriate contingencies to be addressed in bids.
- Prepare complete bid packages to meet owner requirements.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering or construction management, OR extensive and related work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge, skills and abilities described above.
- 7+ years' related experience
- Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience in heavy civil construction with an emphasis on concrete work.
- Exceptionally strong attention to detail, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Work, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a construction or manufacturing environment.
- HRCI (PHR, SPHR) or SHRM (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
