Overview:
IINTECON, LLC is seeking a highly qualified Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide advisory and assistance services to the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). The SME will bring deep expertise in NASIC mission domains (Air, Space/Counterspace, Cyber, Forces, Missiles) and support the Intelligence Community (IC) in advancing technical intelligence, analytical methodologies, and mission-critical R&D efforts. The SME will collaborate with government and industry partners, provide strategic and technical guidance, and influence planning, programming, and budget decisions across DoD and IC stakeholders.
This is a high-visibility role requiring exceptional technical, analytical, and communication skills in support of NASIC’s mission to discover and characterize foreign threats to U.S. national security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide subject matter expertise in NASIC mission areas: Air, Space/Counterspace, Cyberspace, Forces, Missiles.
- Support the development and application of analytic methodologies, strategies, and processes across NASIC and the IC.
- Serve as a technical (proxy) project manager, guiding highly technical teams, managing contracts and funding execution, and advocating projects to senior leaders.
- Collaborate with senior IC, DoD, and allied government officials to influence policy, planning, and budget decisions.
- Provide assessments, studies, and technical evaluations of adversary capabilities, R&D strategies, and program architectures.
- Prepare and deliver high-level briefings, reports, and recommendations to NASIC leadership and external stakeholders.
- Maintain cognizance of emerging and disruptive foreign technologies and their implications for U.S. defense.
Clearance Requirements:
- Active Top Secret/SCI at time of hire; must be able to maintain TS/SCI eligibility and comply with polygraph if required.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate in engineering, physical sciences, intelligence studies, or related field.
- Equivalent substitutions (20 years of experience; 16 years + Bachelor’s; 12 years + Master’s) may be considered.
- Minimum 20 years of relevant experience, including at least 10 years supporting DoD or Intelligence Community programs.
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more NASIC mission domains (Air, Space, Cyber, Forces, Missiles).
- Proven experience leading technical teams and collaborating at senior levels of the IC/DoD.
- Strong ability to prepare, present, and defend technical findings to executive and senior government stakeholders.
- Familiarity with R&D planning, systems engineering, modeling & simulation, and intelligence analysis preferred.
