About the Role:
Skillforce is seeking Electrician Journeyman for an ongoing project in Middletown, VA. This position requires a deep understanding of electrical codes, blueprints, and safety protocols to deliver high-quality workmanship that meets regulatory standards. The journeyman electrician will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within budget. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential to diagnose electrical issues and implement effective solutions. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall success and safety of construction projects by providing expert electrical services from start to finish.
Pay Range: $33-$35/hr
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification recognized by the state of Virginia.
- Valid Scissor lift Certification
- Fall Protection Certification
- Must have your own tools and harness
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working as a licensed electrician in the construction industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes applicable to Winchester, VA.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with low voltage systems, such as fire alarms, security systems, or data cabling.
- Certification in OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety training.
- Familiarity with green building practices and energy-efficient electrical systems.
- Previous experience working on commercial construction projects.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to install electrical wiring, outlets, fixtures, and control equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and repair or replace faulty wiring, components, or equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate electrical installations with other building systems and project timelines.
- Adhere strictly to all local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations during all phases of work.
