Join our newly established Fire Team and play a crucial role in ensuring fire safety across our organisation. As a Fire Contracts Surveyor, you will provide a responsive and effective fire safety surveying service across our entire geographical area, safeguarding our customers, staff, and assets in line with current fire safety regulations and legislation.

You will oversee and deliver a range of fire safety projects, working with approved contractors and internal teams to ensure compliance with statutory obligations while meeting customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections to ensure all works are delivered in accordance with agreed specification and quality standards ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and the organisations policies and procedures
  • Ensure excellent standards of customer care are applied to each contract. Deal with all relevant customer queries or complaints in a sympathetic, pragmatic and prompt manner as per agreed policies and procedures
  • Engage with other areas of the business in a ‘one team’ approach, sharing knowledge and expertise in support of developing improvements and changes
  • Liaise with the Fire Safety Delivery Team Manager providing project management services for any fire projects assigned, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are working in-line with the project delivery timelines and relevant standards
  • Assist on delivery of fire safety programmes, including overseeing completed works comply to the required regulations
  • Liaise with the Fire Safety Delivery Team Manager on internal and external communication plans relevant to programme delivery
  • Lead on from the fire risk assessment process and/or other processes, visit, inspect and provide detailed specification for fire remedial works and complete post inspections once these tasks are completed
  • Specify and manage fire safety improvement works, close fire risk assessment recommendation and improve safety
  • Ensure that the Administrator sufficiently collects, inputs and maintains compliance system data in accordance with fire safety programmes
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the position

Requirements

For this position, we have listed the requirements we believe are essential for this role:

Knowledge

  • Proven knowledge of the registry report system of Building Safety is essential with proven experience in Social Housing
  • Understanding of office software packages and an appreciation of the opportunities presented by software designed specifically for maintenance management

Skills & Experience

  • Effective interpersonal skills, including teamwork, networking and negotiation skills with the ability to positively motivate all stakeholders, whilst building trusted relationships
  • A motivated and enthusiastic individual, who can work under pressure and prioritise workloads to deliver an outstanding service to the partnered departments
  • Possess an industry recognised formal fire safety qualification (level 3 minimum)
  • Experience of contract Surveying, with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to customer care
  • Be able to demonstrate detailed work orders including. specification & materials, also drawings
  • Full driving licence and access to own transport, or ability to travel in a timely and efficient manner to attend meetings in locations not easily accessed by public transport
  • Have an awareness of future changes in fire safety leading on from the Hackett Report, Building Safety Bill and Fire Safety Bill

The salary for this role is £50,000 per annum with up to 10% pension contribution.
