Role Purpose
The P&C Advisor plays a critical role in supporting BizCover’s People & Culture (P&C) strategy by providing hands-on advice and guidance to managers and employees across Australia and New Zealand. This role bridges the gap between day-to-day HR operations and strategic initiatives, ensuring that people processes are effective, compliant, and aligned with our culture of innovation, speed, and customer focus.
The P&C Advisor is a trusted partner to managers on employee relations, policy interpretation, and workforce matters. They also act as a culture ambassador, supporting initiatives that drive employee engagement, strengthen BizCover’s Employer Value Proposition (EVP), and enhance the employee experience. The role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys building strong connections across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Advisory & Employee Relations
- Act as the first point of contact for managers and employees on HR policies, Awards, and employee relations matters across AU & NZ.
- Provide advice on performance management, conduct, grievances, and absence management.
- Support managers with coaching and guidance to build confidence in leading people effectively.
Culture, Engagement & EVP
- Partner with P&C colleagues to deliver employee engagement initiatives (e.g., surveys, recognition programs, team-building).
- Support the execution of BizCover’s EVP activities, including employer branding, internal comms, and social impact programs.
- Actively contribute to building a high-performance, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture.
- Champion BizCover’s values through daily interactions and people practices.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation (e.g., Fair Work Act, Banking, Finance & Insurance Award 2020, NZ Employment Relations Act).
- Draft contracts, variation letters, and policy documents, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business needs.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS (Hi Bob) data, supporting payroll and reporting requirements.
- Assist with HR audits, ISO compliance, and reporting (e.g., WGEA).
People Initiatives
- Support P&C projects such as learning programs, wellbeing initiatives, diversity & inclusion, and policy rollouts.
- Contribute to the development of the P&C roadmap by bringing forward insights from day-to-day interactions.
- Collaborate with colleagues in AU, NZ, PH, and Indonesia on global people projects.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as an HR Advisor, HR Generalist, or similar, with exposure across both AU and NZ employment environments.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, Awards, and HR best practice.
- Proven ability to provide advice to managers on employee relations and policy interpretation.
- Experience delivering employee engagement and EVP-related activities (e.g., surveys, branding, recognition, or culture programs).
- Comfortable in a fast-paced or start-up style environment — adaptable, hands-on, and proactive.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
