We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager m/f/d  to join our Energy Business team in Germany and help drive the energy transition for land based applications.

What You’ll Do

·         Identify new business opportunities and manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure.

·         Orchestrate, lead and implement public/private tender/proposal strategy to ensure that risks are appropriately managed.

·         Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key customers and stakeholders.

·         Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs and sustainability goals.

·         Promote and represent Wärtsilä Energy’s engine-based power plants portfolio.

 

What We’re Looking For

·         Minimum 5 - 10 years of experience in business development, project sales within the energy or industrial sector.

·         Good understanding of energy business financing, construction, operation and economic drivers especially in Germany.

·         BSc or MSc in Engineering, Economics, or a comparable discipline.

·         Fluent in German (C2) and English (C1) written and oral.

·         Strong networking skills and a team player mindset, both internally and externally.

·         Comfortable engaging with customer organizations at all levels.

·         Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a customer-centric mindset.

·         Active contributor to professional networks, associations, and forums within the energy or industrial sectors.

·         Demonstrated ability to build strategic partnerships and long-term customer relationships

·         A proactive team player with strategic thinking and a passion for innovation and sustainability.

·         Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
