Systems Analyst - Airport Applications presso Vancouver Airport Authority

Position overview

The Systems Analyst - Airport Applications will own business system management, throughout the System Life Cycle, for a specific group of internal customers. This work would include understanding and championing the customers’ business needs (primarily within IT), exploring, and assessing alternative solutions, developing, and maintaining a master plan of initiatives, managing projects from start to finish, creating an environment to effectively support and develop systems.

Key responsibilities include:  

• Manage the support services for applications in production which includes monitoring of marketplace for products and services that may provide benefits to customers.
• Work with technology service providers (internally and externally to YVR) to ensure a high quality of service.
• Project manage small to medium-sized projects and would be accountable for project scope, budget, timeline, and risks.
• Document business requirements (using standard applicable deliverables such as entity relationship diagrams, and specifications for interfaces).
• Able to create other project deliverables as required (such as test plans, training materials, and transition documentation).

Key qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Minimum 5 years of recent related experience as a Systems Analyst, along with a project management background.
• Knowledge and expertise in packaged system implementation support and business systems development.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, along with demonstrated presentation and negotiation skills with vendors, senior management, and leadership.
• Excellent documentation skills, including workflow documentation.
