Reports To: Senior Director of Human Resources
Location:  Herb Pharm, 5428 Bierson Way, Central Point, OR, 97502
Job Type: Full-Time
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (PST)
FLSA Status: Non- Exempt
Pay: $26/hour

Job Summary

The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting the Director of Human Resources by managing onboarding, fostering positive employee relations, and serving as a trusted resource for HR-related questions. This position helps bring the Herb Pharm culture to life by embedding it into all communications, materials, and daily interactions!

   

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Onboard employees legally and in alignment with HP culture 
  • Provide support to employees on various HR-related topics and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Conduct employee investigations in cooperation with department leadership and the Director of HR 
  • Support people leaders with employee coaching and discipline ensuring fair and consistent treatment of employees
  • Maintain and audit new hire data entry to ensure correct and complete records
  • Scan employee files and other documents into electronic filing system 
  • Maintain employee personnel files
  • Assist HR team with the coordination of special events such as snack day, meetings, parties, etc. (as needed)
  • Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices, sharing new information with the HR team
  • Conduct exit interviews and collate all data
  • Support recruitment efforts
  • Create and update all processes for the role
  • Draft HR policies in coordination with the Director of HR

Required Education and Experience

Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business or industry-specific area of focus (preferred)
  • HR certification such as SHRM – CP or PHR (preferred)

Experience: 

  • At least two years’ experience in a generalist or similar HR role
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience

  

Required Qualifications

Skills: 

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Mastery of MS Office and HRIS systems
  • Agility to switch gears as needed
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of labor laws and HR compliance
  • Strong knowledge of HR functions and best practices
  • Must be able to function well as part of a small team with many job duties, often contributing in areas beyond the job description
  • Must be proactive and able to identify what needs to be done and take initiative

Working Conditions

  • Work Environment: Works mostly indoors in an office environment and, at times, in an agricultural/manufacturing setting      where there may be extreme heat and cold, allergens, and airborne particles.
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to other Herb Pharm facilities.  
  • Physical Demands: Extended periods spent working on a computer. Must be able to move around the facility. Occasional      lifting of up to 25 lbs.
