Description

As a Supervisor (Residential), you will be responsible for the oversight and monitoring of administrative and programmatic tasks associated with the Residential Habilitation Services programs. In this role, you will supervise a team of direct care staff members serving as a coach and mentor for staff members in similar positions. You will coordinate, develop and review individual program plans in coordination with team members including family members, residential providers to support coordination activities as needed. Consult with the ISP team on the development of activities within the home and community.

Requirements

 

  • Act as Direct Support Professional (DSP) as needed (see DSP job description)
  • Lead and supervise all aspects of residential care and daily operations within the group home.
  • Support residents in activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene, mobility, meal preparation, and medication administration.
  • Model appropriate interactions and maintain a positive, therapeutic environment.
  • Uphold documentation standards, including incident reports, progress notes, and health logs.
  • Participate in team meetings, individual service planning, and audits or inspections.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Supervise, support, and evaluate a team of Direct Support Professionals.
  • Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all residents by implementing person-centered plans and individualized support services.
  • Coordinate and participate in daily routines such as meals, hygiene, medication administration, housekeeping, and transportation.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including Pennsylvania’s Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) guidelines.
  • Monitor and document individual progress, incidents, and behavioral supports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate communication between staff, families, caseworkers, healthcare providers, and other team members.
  • Oversee household budgeting, inventory, supplies, and maintenance of the physical environment.
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents, including being on-call as needed for staff support and crisis intervention.
  • Train and onboard new employees and ensure ongoing staff development and compliance with mandatory trainings.
  • Advocate for resident rights, dignity, and opportunities for community integration and personal growth.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and support to Assistant Supervisor and Direct Support Professionals to ensure a stable and effective team environment. 
  • Monitor and maintain the overall well-being and safety of all individuals served, ensuring support aligns with their Individualized Service Plans (ISPs). 
  • Coordinate and document medical appointments, therapies, and follow-up care, including accompanying individuals when necessary. 
  • Schedule and maintain appropriate staffing levels, including call-offs and shift coverage, while staying within budgeted hours. 
  • Perform regular home audits to ensure cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance, addressing deficiencies proactively. 
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of services, incidents, behavioral data, medication administration, and progress notes. 
  • Administer medications and treatments as trained and delegated under agency guidelines. 
  • Provide direct care and assistance during staffing shortages, emergencies, or high-risk situations. 
  • Serve as the on-call point of contact for assigned home(s), including emergency response and critical decision-making. 
  • Conduct training, mentoring, and coaching for new and existing DSPs to uphold agency standards and competencies. 
  • Facilitate team meetings, participate in interdisciplinary meetings, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders. 
  • Manage petty cash, receipts, household inventory, and documentation in accordance with agency fiscal policies. 
  • Maintain compliance with all agency, state, and federal regulations including ODP, HIPAA, and OSHA.
