Position Duties

• Monitors the performance of file and print servers, routers, switches, wide area network links, and fiber connections daily.
• Responds to calls from users and daily work orders to resolve computer network problems on a timely basis.
• Repairs and upgrades network equipment, including servers, PCs, hubs, routers, switches. and network cabling.
• Implements the design of the network infrastructure, obtains equipment bids from vendors, and installs equipment.
• Monitors, approves, and signs off on outside vendors’ work.
• Performs a variety of network administration duties.
• Interacts with users to ensure timely response and resolution of reported network problems.
• Teaches library users how to use computers, including hardware, software, and on-line resources.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, and
• At least three (3) years of experience in computer network design and troubleshooting, or related field; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
