The HSFTIC Facilities Manager will:
- Oversee building and grounds maintenance in buildings 4S, 4N & B17 at Johnson Space Center.
- Ensure building physical security and safety emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly and that planned maintenance is communicated to building occupants
- Work with subcontractors and 3rd party vendors to ensure the facilities, in scope are clean, safe, and maintained according to company policy and procedures
- Be the single point-of-contact responsible for ensuring the general safety of a building; providing thorough coordination with appropriate line management to ensure the safety and health of the occupants and equipment.
The HSFTIC Facilities Manager has an additional requirement to fulfill the duties listed in NASA’s JPR 1700.1 – in accordance with NASA policy
Specific responsibilities, as per NASA JPR 1700.1 include:
- As a newly appointed FM or Alt. FM, signing up for the Facility Manager Training Class and New Fire Warden Orientation Course through SATERN.
- Ensuring Emergency Action Plans (EAP’s) are in place and used in the facility. Develop or update the EAP for the building
- Submit updated EAP’s to the Office of Emergency Management for review prior to posting to the official EAP repository by the Safety and Test Operations Division. Ensure dissemination of the EAP to all building occupants.
- Ensuring building Fire Evacuation Plans (FEP’s) and facility security access requirements are in place and used in the facility.
- Serve as “Chief Fire Warden” for the facility. Provide support to the Fire Protection Specialists during drills and alarms. Keep the building Fire Wardens informed of building modifications, construction, and fire alarm outages, or any activity that might create a delay in evacuating the building residents in the event of a planned or unplanned evacuation.
- Ensure, policies, procedures, and all applicable safety and health regulations are disseminated and enforced in building operation.

Education & Experience:
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree, or at least two (2) years of specialized experience.
