Assist Director Nursing presso Kendal Corporation

Position Summary: 

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) provides leadership and supervision to the nursing department. Under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON), the ADON monitors nursing activity, infection control, communicates changes, conducts performance evaluations and disciplines staff as needed. The Assistant Director of Nursing will ensure regulatory compliance by conducting audits, surveys, interviewing patients and randomly assessing medical administration records. Regulatory compliance includes understanding health care rules and regulations at the local, state and federal levels. The ADON provides direct care to patients and displays a willingness to help others and a level of practical nursing skills. In the absence of other nurses or nursing assistants, the ADON is required to assist with patient care. In the absence of the Director of Nursing, the Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for the operation of the nursing facility.

Education and Experience:

Graduation from an approved school of Nursing and current licensure by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Registered Nurse. Proficient in Microsoft Office and use of an electronic medical record system. At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred. At least 5 years of nursing experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
