Description
Performs a variety of general and technical maintenance duties requiring skill in various building construction and maintenance disciplines including electronics, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, boiler maintenance, HVAC operation and custodial care. The primary responsibilities of this Maintenance position includes facilities at the Tushar Lake Campground, Minersville Lake Campground, and the Beaver County Fair Grounds. This includes the grounds maintenance of the Admin Building, Courthouse Museum, Fairgrounds and the Auxiliary Building.

Performs routine duties as needed to implement all Beaver County facilities maintenance program(s) and schedules.
Monitors and performs general maintenance on facilities Heat/Ac to regulate and control temperatures; performs daily inspections and makes adjustments; monitor building temperature; maintains various monitoring and safety devices designed to prevent or control fire,etc.; maintains domestic hot water systems and pumps.
Performs preventive maintenance on facilities systems and equipment; maintains HVAC system, including VAV boxes; calibrates
thermostats; electrical systems, electrical and electronic controls, etc.
Monitors and maintains locking devices needed to assure facilities safety and security; coordinates with vendor technicians as neededto resolve complex issues or replace components as needed.
Maintains, repairs, replaces electrical components; maintains light fixtures, outlets, extension poles, connections, switches, and routine wiring; monitors mechanical apparatus such as motors, belts, pulleys etc. to assure proper operation; may perform routine
maintenance of telephone equipment, camera equipment, elevators, etc.
Performs general preventative maintenance on kitchen facilities and cooking equipment; clears and cleans grease traps and generally monitors kitchen condition in compliance with health and occupational standards.
Yard work of all natures including- garbage, trees, weeds, mowing of lawns, repair to sprinkler systems.
Work hours are 40 per week with an 80 hour pay period. Work schedule may vary Mondays tlhrough Sunday, and some nights if needed. Winter-Preventative Maintenance on assigned facilities. On-call status is required.
Monitors general operational controls; monitor computer and takes readings to determine proper operation and working status;
identifies problems as they occur and assures timely repair. Maintenance of well and pertaining controls. Disinfect Well Tanks as
needed. Painting & repairs to all equipment at facilities. Assist with custodial care at all facilities
Requests orders necessary materials and equipment to assure appropriate inventory of building projects, tools, equipment, custodial supplies, paper products, and lighting and hardware products. Receives purchases and orders; monitors expenditures to conform with established budget limitations; retains receipts to be turned into the Maintenance Supervisor.
Provides building security as needed during repairs or maintenance to facilities.
Oversees snow removal of all County Buildings including Search and Rescue Building, Auxiliary Building, Children's Justice
Center, and the County Walking Trail.
Maintenance also is a primary assignment for all the buildings, parks, and recreation areas.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience
A. Graduation from high school; plus, two (2) years of specialized training provided through trade school, vocational
centers, apprenticeships or professionally sponsored workshops related to commercial building maintenance,
environmental control systems, construction or maintenance;
AND
B. Three (3) years of experience involving responsible custodial work, HVAC and building maintenance requiring skill in
carpentry, plumbing, electrical wiring, electronics and other related fields;
OR
C. An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Considerable knowledge of construction techniques, and methods related to carpentry, plumbing, electronics, or
electrical wiring; methods, materials and equipment used in general custodial work; operation and minor maintenance
and repair of plumbing fixtures; electrical and mechanical systems, boilers, small motors, etc.; interpersonal
communication skills. Working knowledge of basic principles and practices of supervision; basic inventory control
methods and procedures; cost management and budget development.
Journey level skill in carpentry, plumbing or some other construction field; the use of a variety of hand and power
tools such as hammers, saws, wrenches, sanders, floor buffers, vacuums, and other tools common to building
maintenance and repair.
Ability to determine needs for services and supplies necessary to carry out multiple maintenance task; lift and carry
moderately heavy materials; establish and follow through on work priorities; quality decisions in emergencies;
communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; develop effective working relationships with subordinates, supervisor,
fellow employees.
Special Qualifications:
Must be able to move objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.
May be required to become certified in energy management.
