MORSE is seeking a dynamic and dual-hatted Security Professional to join our team in Cambridge, MA. This role offers a unique blend of cybersecurity/IT functions and contributions to physical security, personnel security, and more. In this position, you will work on a small, collaborative team dedicated to securing all MORSE office locations. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of security across our facilities, ensuring the protection of sensitive information and the integrity of our systems. Primary Responsibilities
- Utilize Splunk, QRadar, and/or Graylog to audit information systems for security compliance and integrity.
- Employ Nessus to scan for vulnerabilities across various systems (Linux, Windows, Cisco) and collaborate with the System Administrator (SA) to remediate identified vulnerabilities.
- Research open vulnerabilities and other technical items to assess the risk to the organization and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Interface with government representatives on behalf of the organization to ensure compliance and address security concerns.
- Perform basic patching on isolated information systems to maintain security and functionality.
- Conduct assured file transfers for program personnel, ensuring the secure transmission of sensitive data.
- Assist the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in maintaining and creating all authorization and assessment documentation.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Submit visit requests and foreign travel in DISS, and investigation requests in NBIS.
- Administer the security education, training, and awareness program for assigned employees.
- Coordinate with local guard response companies and be on the call list to respond to the facility’s intrusion alarm activations.
- Assist on a team responsible for maintaining security accreditations and approvals necessary to keep the facility operational to meet mission requirements.
- Assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) with understanding contracts, SOWs (Statement of Work), and DD254s to determine security requirements.
- Provide day-to-day administration and oversight of classified activities, develop local policy, and perform self-inspections.
- Provide prime/subcontractor security support and direction including the development and maintenance of DD254s, security guidance, and classified holdings.
- Develop and revise security plans, procedures, instructions, and educational material.
- Provide classification guidance to program personnel, conduct security briefings, and investigate security incidents.
- Provide other security services including Personnel Security, Physical Security, Communications Security (COMSEC), and Visitor Control.
Requirements
- Willing to maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Criminal Justice, or equivalent.
- 2+ years working in a professional environment.
- Familiar with IT systems including Linux and Windows.
- Holds Security+ certification or willing to obtain Security+ within 6 months of starting.
- Experience working with and safeguarding sensitive information, such as Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), classified data, or Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
- Ability to manage time, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions.
- Holds an active US security clearance.
