Position Purpose: 

The Executive Director of the Peoria Tribal Gaming Commission is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring of gaming activities, including implementation and enforcement of the rules and regulations promulgated by the Peoria Tribal Gaming Commission and the National Indian Gaming Commission. The Executive Director is responsible for the maintenance of all files and records pertaining to the duties of this position. The Executive Director may also be required to supervise other Gaming Commission staff. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Supervises gaming commission staff and directs all administrative actions of the gaming commission. 

· Promulgate regulatory policies pursuant to tribal, federal, and state regulations. 

· Monitor gaming activities to ensure compliance with policies and procedures as well as tribal, federal, and state regulations through internal audit, compliance, and the surveillance department.

· Conduct investigations and take appropriate enforcement and corrective action as necessary.

· Provide monthly reports to the Gaming Commission and Tribal Administrator of the status of the gaming activities.

· Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all licensing requirements of the National Indian Gaming Commission and the Tribal-State Compact.

· Responsible for the preparation and management of the budgets for the Gaming Commission.

· Review and investigate deficiencies in financials or audit reports.

· Set up and facilitate Gaming Commissioner meetings and licensing hearings.

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  

Education and Experience:

· A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Accounting, or other related field OR at least three years’ experience in regulatory, managerial, investigative, or gaming required OR a combination of experience, education, and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Possess      knowledge of Tribal, State, and Federal Gaming Laws and Regulations.
  • Previous      secretarial experience and skills required.
  • Must      have excellent verbal and written communication skills for contact with the      general public, employees, governmental, and business associates.
  • Organizational      and record-keeping skills are necessary for accurate maintenance of files,      correspondence, and follow-up.
  • Proficiency      with computers and programs such as Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and the      Internet.
  • Ability      to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with      management, staff, co-workers, and the general public.

Certifications:

· Valid Driver’s License and Insurance.

Conditions of Employment:

Work Requirements:

Position involves prolonged sitting, standing, stooping, or bending, lifting, or carrying up to 30 pounds on a daily basis. Work is generally performed in an office environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and/or temperature.
