General Profile
- Requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process
- Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
- Works with close supervision
- Performs manual tasks according to established procedures
- Maintains manufacturing equipment including conveyors, belts, engines, pumps, fans, etc. using hand and power tools.
- Tests, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment, as necessary.
- Determines and performs required maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, aligning/adjusting parts, calibrating, etc.).
- May also conduct periodic safety and maintenance inspections to evaluate equipment for replacement and identify wear and damage.
- Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
- Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Calibration. Mechanical Troubleshooting. Preventive Maintenance. Reading Blueprints/Diagrams. Safety Inspections. Safety Policies and Procedures. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Spare Parts Management. Equipment Repairs. Mechanical Maintenance. Mechanical Systems. Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- May be requested to work a different shift.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
- This position is Safety-Sensitive.
