Key Responsibilities
• Deliver engaging lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training covering PCT skills, including patient hygiene, vital signs, activities of daily living, infection control, EKG, and phlebotomy.
• Develop and follow lesson plans, select appropriate learning activities, and ensure instruction meets curriculum objectives and industry standards.
• Monitor student attendance and progress, grade assignments and exams, and provide feedback and advice to help students achieve their goals.
• Oversee students' practical application of skills during clinical rotations and laboratory sessions.
• Maintain accurate records, adhere to state and federal training regulations, and stay updated on curriculum changes and industry requirements.
• Offer professional guidance and support to students as they prepare for their PCT careers.
Education:
• Licensed practical nurse or Registered Nurse
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
• Current South Carolina (or compact state) licensure as LPN/RN (SCLLR) in good standing required
Qualifications & Skills
• Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience in caring for the elderly and/or chronically ill within a hospital, skilled and/or nursing home environment within the last three (3) years of practice.
• Effective management of lesson plans, student records, and the learning environment.
• The ability to explain complex concepts clearly and empathetically to students.
• The capacity to build positive relationships with students and provide mentorship and encouragement.
• The capacity to stand, walk, and move around a lab or clinical setting for extended periods and assist with patient positioning or equipment handling.
